Description
Senna acts as a laxative and antipyretic.
Senna pods and leaves are used as a powerful laxative. Increases peristaltic bowel movements and relieves constipation.
Senna causes intestinal pain and for this reason should be combined with aromatic or digestive herbs such as ginger, cloves, cardamom, fennel, licorice, coriander.
How to use: Put 5-6 leaves in a cup of hot water and let them soak for 6-8 hours. The action of the herb is slow and appears 10 to 12 hours after ingestion. Do not use for more than 2 weeks.
Caution! It should not be used in case of spastic constipation. Chronic constipation should be treated by a doctor. Too frequent use, in addition to addiction, can cause dizziness, vomiting and abdominal pain. If accidentally taken by infants it can cause side effects such as a severe rash. Constipation is usually the result of another health problem rather than the root cause. Patients suffering from constipation should visit their doctor to identify the main problem and treat it.
