Description
Black tea accounts for 75% of the world's tea consumption and is the most well-known and commercial type of tea in the world. It is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis bush which oxidize and turn from green to dark brown-black. Oxidation occurs when the leaves are exposed to liquid and oxygen-rich hot air.
It has more caffeine than green tea so it is used as a coffee substitute.
