Chlorella is a tiny green freshwater seaweed. It is considered a superfood due to its nutrients and beneficial properties for health.

It is very rich in plant proteins of high nutritional value, and contains 19 amino acids, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K, B vitamins, minerals, phosphorus, β-carotene, lutein and xanthophylls that make it a strong antioxidant. It is the richest plant in chlorophyll (4 times more than spirulina, spinach and nettle). It also contains vitamin B12, and beneficial omega 3 fatty acids such as α-linolenic acid.

  • Detoxification and alkalization.

Chlorella detoxifies the body from the heavy metals (chromium, zinc, mercury, lead) that accumulate in the body. It binds toxins and eliminates them naturally from the body, through the intestine. The chlorophyll it contains accelerates the purification of the blood. Due to its RNA and DNA content, it has also been found to protect against UV rays. A very important action of chlorella is that it helps in the alkaline pH balance of the body tissues, and contributes to the smooth alkalinization of the body. It is also an excellent detoxifier for the liver, with action similar to that of thistle. It removes alcohol and toxins from the liver, promoting its cell renewal.

  • Stimulation and energy.

Chlorella is a very good source of protein, vitamins and minerals and is ideal for athletes, vegetarians and people who do not eat properly and do not receive the necessary nutrients through their daily diet. Chlorella nutritional supplements provide energy and help reduce physical and mental fatigue. It also strengthens the immune system and helps prevent anemia. It calms, stimulates metabolism, and the production of enzymes that are catalysts for almost every biochemical reaction in all metabolic processes. It increases the energy and vitality of the body, because it increases hemoglobin, the means of transporting oxygen in the blood.

  • Antioxidant protection.

Thanks to its strong antioxidant action and mainly from the chlorophyll it contains, chlorella protects cells from harmful free radicals and aging. Corrects the biological damage caused by time to almost all cell systems. It can also be helpful to smokers to combat some of the negative effects of smoking.

  • Obesity, diabetes and metabolic syndrome.

Chlorella helps reduce body fat and lower blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin levels. It can prevent the metabolic syndrome and prevent the development of insulin resistance in people who are pre-diabetic. Chlorella tends to lower levels of bad cholesterol and high blood pressure. Also due to its antioxidant action, chlorella helps prevent complications in diabetics such as cataracts.

  • Slimming.

Chlorella balances metabolism and the endocrine system, and detoxifies to create an environment conducive to weight loss. It offers a feeling of satiety, reducing the feeling of hunger, and is a suitable supplement for people who have a tendency to snack.

  • Digestive system.

Chlorella helps the digestive process and good intestinal function, and acts against the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome and constipation. With Chlorella, beneficial probiotic bacteria such as Lactobacillus multiply more easily, an action that improves digestion, and the absorption of nutrients from the diet and normalizes the intestinal flora.

The daily consumption of powder for a healthy body ranges from 3-5 grams.

Chlorella contains vitamin K, and should be avoided by people taking anticoagulants. Do not take Chlorella during pregnancy and lactation, as well as if you suffer from lupus, multiple sclerosis or rheumatoid arthritis. Taking chlorella during the summer months can worsen the photosensitivity of the skin. It should be combined with very high sun protection.
