Description
Spearmint is a herbaceous plant that grows to a height of 30-100cm. Its leaves, as well as its essential oils, are widely used in medicine, food industry, cosmetics, confectionery, chewing gums, toothpastes and pharmaceutical industries. In addition, it is often used in the kitchen, offering its pleasant aroma and taste before or after cooking.
It contains several components necessary for the body, such as potassium, calcium, manganese, iron and magnesium, many antioxidant vitamins such as A, β-carotene, C, B6, riboflavin and thiamine.
Properties:
- It strengthens the immune system, protecting the body from many infections, cold and flu. Relieves the symptoms caused by respiratory infections (pneumonia, bronchitis, asthma, runny nose).
- Improves the health of the stomach, soothes severe gastric pain as well as the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux, facilitates digestion, prevents bloating and discomfort.

How to use: Put 1 teaspoon in a cup of hot water for 6-8 minutes. Strain and add if you wish sugar, honey or any sweetener of your choice. In cooking it is added to foods in small quantities, giving a special aroma.
Caution! In large doses it is a toxic herb and can cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. It needs to be consumed in moderation, as it has been shown that in high doses it can cause liver and kidney problems. Do not consume during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
