Description
Cinnamon is a spice that comes from the inside of the cinnamon tree. The bark is cut into very thin strips, which are wrapped together and dried. This is how we distinguish them from any other cinnamon, from their many layers.
It has an intense but delicate aroma, pleasantly sweet and woody. Grinded has a light brown color.
Properties:
Antioxidant action. Cinnamon contains antioxidants, such as polyphenols, which fight the damage done by free radicals in the body.
Fights inflammation. It has a strong action against inflammation, whether it is temporary or chronic.
Reduces the risk of heart disease. It lowers cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while HDL cholesterol remains stable.
Reduces insulin sensitivity in the body, allowing the hormone to act and lower blood sugar levels.
It lowers sugar and has anti-diabetic action.
Cinnamon is thought to be beneficial in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.
It may protect against cancer as it can activate antioxidant enzymes and prevent the further growth of cancerous tumors.
It has antibacterial action, fights respiratory infections and prevents the growth of bacteria.
