Horsetail is a perennial plant, found near wet areas such as swamps, rivers and streams. Its name ( Equisetum) comes from the Latin words equus which means horse and seta which means hair.


  • It is a diuretic and helps treat fluid retention. In combination with its anti-inflammatory action, horsetail is particularly effective against kidney infections. It also protects the urinary tract from infections (such as urinary tract infection, cystitis) and promotes prostate health.
  • Helps absorb calcium and prevents the deposition of lipids in the arteries.
  • It has a hormonal regulating effect and is ideal for menopausal women as well as for those who do not have a regular cycle.
  • It has expectorant and emollient properties and is a medicine for the treatment of bronchitis. It strengthens the function of the respiratory system and acts therapeutically for the sore throat.
  • It is rich in minerals and mainly in calcium and silicon and has the effect of strengthening the bones and joints. It maintains bone density, promotes collagen production and is ideal for treating osteoporosis and other diseases of the bones and joints.

How to use: Put 1 teaspoon in a cup of hot water for 6-8 minutes. Strain and add if you wish sugar, honey or any sweetener of your choice.
