Basil is a delicious, leafy green herb from Asia and Africa. In addition to being a popular spice, it is also used in teas and supplements which can offer a number of health benefits.

Dried basil has a milder aroma than fresh, but is more spicy and reminiscent of lemon and clove. It goes well with lamb, poultry, tomatoes and tomato sauces, omelets, cheeses, soups and fish.
