Baking soda or Sodium Bicarbonate is a fine white powder with a slightly salty, alkaline taste that has countless uses both in the human body and in daily life .

For body:

  • For the stomach: Half a spoonful of baking soda in half a glass of water or orange or lemon juice fights sourness and heartburn, without preventing digestion.
  • Eye drops: Frequent washes with water and soda are useful for inflammation of the eyelids and conjunctivitis. It also serves as an antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial. For barley on the eyelids, soda can solve the problem.
  • Fights tooth decay, whitens teeth: Rinses with water and soda (a teaspoon of soda in two cups of water), fights the germs that cause tooth decay. Makes teeth strong, healthy and fights gingivitis. If once a week we brush our teeth only with soda, they will turn white.
  • Refreshes the breath: put a teaspoon of soda in half a glass of water, rinse your mouth, chew and rinse. Odor is not masked but neutralized.
  • For sensitive areas: Soda has an antiseptic effect. Inhibits the multiplication of germs. Doing external washes with lukewarm water, you have dissolved a teaspoon of soda in a liter of water during the period, 2-4 times a day. The same goes for mild vaginitis or if you use tampons.
  • For muscle aches and cramps: Just a teaspoon in a glass of water is enough to relieve.
  • For tired feet: take a foot bath in lukewarm water with soda. Dissolve 3 tablespoons of baking soda in a bowl of warm water and soak your feet. Rub lightly. The best spa for your sore feet!
  • For fungal infections: For fungal infections of the feet between the toes, blisters and itching from insect bites, dissolve soda in water and take foot baths, or smears on the bite points.
  • As a deodorant: It works as a deodorant and antifungal, dab a little baking soda on your armpit to neutralize odors.

At home:

  • To shine pots, floors, silverware.
  • For kitchen utensils: For pots or any other burnt utensil, add water and three tablespoons of baking soda. Simmer for 5 minutes and rinse. To clean the refrigerator and the freezer, three tablespoons of soda in ½ liters of water are enough.
  • To unblock sinks use with vinegar or citric acid. The same solution is used for the toilet bowl, where it is left to act for a few minutes, rub with a brush and rinse with water.
  • Refresh your sponges: Soak the sponges in a strong soda solution (4 tablespoons soda, dissolved in 1 liter of warm water) to get rid of odors and dirt.
  • For washing machines and dishwashers: For soft clothes and sparkling dishes and glasses, put a tablespoon of soda in the washing machine together with the detergent. It will also protect the washing machine from salts.
  • For legumes and vegetables: To soften the legumes, add a tablespoon of baking soda per liter of water and let them soak overnight. It makes them more digestible and reduces the feeling of bloating. You can also soften the boiled meat by adding half a teaspoon to the boiling water. If we add it to the water where we wash the vegetables, it will remove and kill the parasites. If we add half a teaspoon to the water in which we boil the greens, they will keep their green color.
  • For carpets and rugs: To clean and bring colors to life. Pour and cover the entire surface of the carpet or rug with baking soda and leave it to act for 24 hours. Then beat the carpet or rug well and vacuum. For a lot of dirt, dissolve soda in water, pour in the dirt and scrub with a brush.
  • For silverware: Wet a linen or cotton cloth with soda solution. Be careful if it is not pure silver, it will be damaged.
  • Extinguish fires: If you have a small fire in the kitchen, just pour baking soda on the fire immediately, covering the whole hearth. It works like a fire extinguisher.
  • For bad smells: If our shoes smell, we add soda. leave them for at least 12 hours, shake them and wear them.
  • Fighting odors in the trash: Spray some baking soda solution in the bin before putting in a bag to neutralize bad odors.
